Every paper here is written and checked by AI, automatically, overnight. Here is exactly what happens.
News Pebbles is made by NeRDLabs, which is responsible for everything published here. Questions: info@newspebbles.com. To report a mistake, use the feedback form or email corrections@newspebbles.com.
Each night an AI research desk (Claude, made by Anthropic) searches the news for every topic the day's papers cover. It keeps a fact only if it can point to a page the search actually found, and it notes that page. It never fills a gap from memory, and records and “firsts” go in only when a source says them. Stories too graphic for younger readers are marked, and never used in papers for under-15s.
Each paper due that day is written from that research alone, following its own instructions: the reader's age, what the paper is for, which countries and topics it covers, and how long it is. All papers follow the same editorial standards. Age changes the words and explanations, never the standard of accuracy.
Before anything is published, automatic checks confirm every section is complete, the date is right, the layout fits the printed page with nothing cut off, the games are complete, and every story lists its sources. The AI then rereads every figure, name, place and date against its research and removes anything the research doesn't support. A paper that still fails after several tries isn't published, and the previous issue stays up.
Papers that pass go up on this site straight away, as a printable PDF and in Read & Play. No person reads each paper before it goes up. We read every piece of feedback and fix mistakes as soon as we hear about them, and list every fix on the corrections page.
AI makes mistakes, and early reports change. Every issue lists its sources on its paper's page, so you can check anything before handing it over. To report a mistake, use the feedback form or email corrections@newspebbles.com.
You can also design a paper for your own child: the page writes instructions for your own AI chatbot, then checks its reply and prints it with the same engine as our papers.
