A cyclone is a huge spinning storm that forms over warm sea water. Cyclone Arnab is growing over the Bay of Bengal, the part of the Indian Ocean on India's east side. On Monday evening it was about 490 kilometres from the port city of Visakhapatnam.
India's weather office, the India Meteorological Department, says Arnab should reach land on the morning of 28 October. It expects it to cross the coast of Andhra Pradesh between two places called Bapatla and Visakhapatnam. Winds could blow at 115 to 125 kilometres an hour, with gusts up to 140.
People are getting ready before then. In Odisha, the state just to the north, schools and colleges in five districts will close on 28 and 29 October. Odisha has 302 rescue teams on standby. Fishing has stopped, and more than 4,800 boats have come back to the Kakinada coast.
