The Houthis are a group from Yemen. Yemen is the country just south of Saudi Arabia. They have kept attacking Saudi Arabia. On October 10, a strike hit the main airport in Riyadh, the Saudi capital. Saudi Arabia says at least 12 people were killed and more than 300 were hurt.

The attacks are now shaking the oil market. Saudi Arabia sells a lot of oil. After the Houthis claimed new attacks on Saudi airports and oil company sites, the price of Brent crude rose above $109 a barrel. Brent is a price that traders use for oil. UK ship monitors also said two tankers were attacked off the Saudi coast on Friday.

Life in Riyadh is changing too. A tall office tower there, the Kingdom Centre, told workers to stay home and work from there. And on Monday, Saudi Arabia put off a big investor meeting to 2027. It was due to start on October 26.

Half a Million People March in France

Some protests turned violent, and curfews were set.

PEOPLE WHO MARCHED ON SATURDAY In thousands, according to French authorities

Figures are from the authorities, as reported by CNBC.

On Saturday, about 550,000 people marched in many French cities, the authorities say. About 110,000 of them were in Paris, the capital. They were upset that the cost of living is rising and public services are getting worse.

Some protests turned violent. Some people set fire to city halls. President Emmanuel Macron spoke to the country on Sunday. He promised a firm response, but he did not declare a state of emergency.

Now towns are acting. Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu asked local officials to set curfews, which are rules to stay home at night. Parts of Paris, Lille and three other northern towns have them.
